Tom Cashill - Football (1932-34)
Tom Cashill was best remembered for his 50-yard field goal that beat nationally ranked St. Mary’s College in 1934 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. With time running out, Cashill, who died in 1973, drop kicked a field goal from midfield to give Nevada a 9-7 upset win. He played center and linebacker for the Pack and was All-Far West Conference first team at both positions in 1933 and 1934. Cashill began his college career in 1930 when he attended Notre Dame on a scholarship and transferred to Nevada in 1931.
