Played two seasons as a starting pitcher for the Wolf Pack…helped his team to the NCAA Regionals both seasons and an overall record of 76-39…earned second-team All-Big West honors in 1999 and first-team honors in 2000…turned in a career record of 22-7 in 33 starts (34 games)… struck out 199 hitters in 235.2 innings… holds the school record with 113 strikeouts in 2000 and is eighth in career strikeouts… ranks fifth in career wins in the Nevada record book… led the team in victories with 11 in both 1999 and 2000 (third on the Wolf Pack single-season list)… had a career ERA of 4.28 in an era of very lively bats… …was taken in the second round of the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft by the Houston Astros… made his Major League debut with the Houston Astros on July 22, 2004 and went onto play for 14 seasons as a relief pitcher… played for nine teams during his long Major League career…appeared in the 2005 World Series for the Houston Astros.
