Women’s Basketball & Volleyball Coach (1969-76), Women’s Athletics Director (1969-76)
Was instrumental in the development of Nevada varsity women’s athletics and was a champion for women’s sports during her career… served as Nevada’s women’s athletics director from 1969-76… spent two years as Nevada’s Associate AD when the women’s athletics and men’s athletics were combined in the mid-1970s… also spent eight seasons coaching Nevada’s women’s basketball and volleyball teams from 1969-76… led the Wolf Pack volleyball team to its first and only conference championship in the Northern California Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 1975… left Nevada to become the first Director of Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California… established 10 endowed scholarships and led the Cal Bears to 28 conference championships and four national championships… was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Association of Collegiate Women’s Athletic Administrators… established the Cal Women’s Hall of Fame (now part of the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame)… was the first female administrator inducted into the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
