Football (1983-86)
Eric Beavers finished his career as the University’s career leader in touchdown passes (78), total offense (9,028 yards) and pass completions (642). He quarterbacked the 1986 Wolf Pack team, remembered as one of the best in school history, to a 13-1 record. He recorded 26 passing touchdowns his senior year in 1986 and earned Big Sky Conference Offensive MVP and All-Big Sky honors. He led the Big Sky in passing efficiency in both 1984 and 1985. He led the Wolf Pack to the semifinals of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs three times in his career. He was also named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team in 1985 and 1986. Following his time at Nevada, he played for the Graz Giants of the Austrian Football League from 1991 to 1993. He was named Giants team MVP in 1991, helping them win the league championship. He also played for the Los Angeles Cobras of the AFL in 1988. He also got into coaching spending time as a graduate assistant at Nevada and UCLA. He then returned to northern California to teach history and coach at the high school level in Woodland, Davis, San Rafael and South Lake Tahoe.
