Football & Basketball (1929-32)
John Griffin lettered for three years in both football (1929-31) and basketball (1930-32). The 1931-32 year saw him earn both All-America honorable mention honors as a fullback and second team All-Far West Conference in basketball. Originally from Tonopah, “Johnny” Griffin was described by his basketball coach, J.E. “Doc” Martie, as “effective and aggressive” in football and “a star on our 1932 championship team.”
