Football (1938-40)
Bob Robinett was a member of the Nevada football team in the late 1930’s, lettering from 1938-40. He played various offensive and defensive line positions and earned All-Far Western Conference honors at five different positions while at Nevada. He was co-captain of the 1939 team and captain of the 1940 squad. The 1939 Wolf Pack won the Far Western Conference championship. He was recognized by the Saturday Evening Post as one of the three top players on the University of Nevada team along with fellow Hall of Famers Marion Motley and John Polish. Following his collegiate and U.S. Navy career, Robinett had a distinguished education and coaching career at several West Coast colleges and junior colleges, and was the general manager of the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League from 1953-57.
