Greg Grouwinkel set pass interception records which still stand in Nevada’s recordbook for career, season and single game interceptions. As a senior, he was named a first-team All-American by both Kodak and the Associated Press. He received Nevada’s Doc Martie Award in 1975, a honor awarded to the top senior male student-athlete annual. No one has come within three interceptions of his career mark of 20, even though he did that in just a three-year career. His single-game record of four interceptions vs. Portland State in 1984 also still stands alone.
