Meet Schedule
Reno, Nev -Â Nevada Track and Field is set for the Mountain West Outdoor Championships May 15-17, in Clovis, California. The meet is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. PT on Thursday and Friday, and will start at 1 p.m. PT on Saturday.Â
The championships will be hosted by Fresno State at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California. This will be the seventh time in the last eight years that the Bulldogs have hosted the meet. Colorado State captured the Mountain West Championships title last season, scoring 165 points.
At last year's championships the Pack placed 4th on 64.25 points, matching the Wolf Pack's highest ever finish. The highlight of last years championships included javelin success, where
Emily Poole placed first and
Lilly Urban placed third.
Rayven Nealey placed fourth in the triple jump, setting a PR of 12.94m. In the 400m
Annalies Kalma placed fourth and
Sarah Marske placed seventh in the 100m hurdles. Valeria Paez-Rueda also placed sixth in the heptathlon.Â
This year, the Wolf Pack enters the championships with 9 athletes ranked in the top-8 in their respective events in the conference, whilst both of the relay teams (4x100m and 4x400m) sit in 5th in the conference. Sitting the highest is
Lilly Urban in the Javelin (55.45m), first in the conference. Urban has broken the school record three times this year and is less than a meter off the Mountain West javelin record.
Izzy Steerman is ranked third in the conference with a season best throw of 46.42m.Â
Meekness Dogonyaro sits third in the conference for triple jump, setting the #2 all-time jump at this years Mt. SAC Relays with a mark of 13.27m. The Pack's other top-8 jumper is
Hazel Gaspaire who's jump of 1.70m sits eighth best in the conference.Â
On the track side,
Annalies Kalma sits fourth in the conference for 400m, after setting a school record time of 52.71 seconds at this years LSU Alumni Gold.
Magdalene George ranks in the top-8 in two events, sitting fourth in the conference for 200m (23.58) and sixth for 100m (11.68).
Natalia Martino sits eighth in the conference for the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:30.49.Â
Johanna Haas is top-8 in the conference for three seperate events, sitting sixth in the heptathlon with a season best 5112 points, eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.81 seconds and eighth in the javelin with a throw of 43.60m.
Valeria Paez Rueda sits seventh in the conference for the heptathlon with a season best point total of 5054.Â
On the relay side, Nevada's 4x100m team sits fifth in the conference (45.70m), and the 4x400m team also sits fifth with a time of 3:42.33.Â
The Pack will be looking to set a program best finish at this years championships, with plenty of hopefuls for medals.Â
