JUNIOR OUTDOOR (2024) - Competed in six meets during the season... Ran a time of 4:48.34 in the 1500m at the Hornet Invitational (March 16) ... Placed 17th in the 3000m steeplechase (11:16.13) at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic (March 30) ... Earned a Nevada personal record time of 4:37.72 in the 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 13) ... Placed 10th in the 1500m (4:42.71) at the Fresno State Invite (April 27) ... Ran a personal best time in the 3000S (11:00.02) placing 14th and recorded a 30th place finish in the 5000M at the Mountain West Championships (May 11). 

JUNIOR INDOOR (2024) - Competed in two meets during the season ... Made her first appearance with the Wolf Pack at the Riverfront Invitational in the mile (5:15.25) placing 50th (Feb. 3) ... Helped the DMR place ninth overall and placed 17th individually in the mile at the Mountain West Championships (Feb. 24). 

PRIOR TO NEVADA - Competed at Portland State (2021-23) ... Awarded to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team (2023) ...  Five-time Academic All-Big Sky (2x cross country; 1x indoor; 2x outdoor) ... Had indoor marks of 2:26.24 (800 meters), 5:02.51 (Mile), and 10:37.54 (3,000 meters) ... Had outdoor marks of 2:13.74 (800 meters), 4:32.32 (1500 meters), and 17:29.50 (5,000 meters).

HIGH SCHOOL - Graduated from Winnebago HS ... State champion in the 1,600 meters at the 2021 IHSA 1A meet…Three-time IHSA 1A Cross Country All-State honoree, placing as high as sixth as a junior in 2019…Led her team to the IHSA 1A state title during the 2019 cross country season…Team won the 2020 XC Championships hosted by Shazam, the unofficial state cross country meet during her COVID-affected senior season…Earned IHSA 1A Track & Field All-State honors in the 3,200 meters after placing eighth as a freshman in 2018…Placed 80th at the 2019 Nike Cross Country Midwest Regional as a junior…Named the All Star Preps Best of Rock River Valley Runner of the Year for both the 2020 cross country season and the 2021 track season…Two-time Big Northern Cross Country champion (2018, 2020)…Four-time 1A Regional Cross Country champion (2017-20)…Set the school records in the indoor 3,200 meters and cross country three-mile race…Placed eighth at the 2020 XC Championships hosted by Shazam (the unofficial cross country state meet during her COVID-affected 2020 season)…2019 Big Northern Conference champion in the 1,600 meters…Two-time sectional champion in the 3,200 meters (2018, 2019), and won another section championship in the 1,600 meters as a freshman in 2018.
 
PERSONAL - Daughter of Vera Gjersten and Phillip Martino…Has a brother, Nicolai Martino, and a sister, Sophia Martino…Lists reading, hiking in the mountains, painting, arts & crafts, crocheting, and making string art boards for her Etsy Shop as hobbies/interests…Was involved in Servant Leadership, Student Council, and the National Arts Honors Society during high school…Served as Key Club Treasurer and National Arts Honors Society Secretary in high school…Hopes to become a medical doctor, or work in biology for her career…Majoring in biology.
