SAN FRANCISCO - The Nevada Men's Golf team improved their score by 13 strokes on the second day of competition at The Goodwin, carding a combined score of 285 (+5) in the second round. 
Peyton Callens had another impressive day, recording a score of 71 (+1) after tallying two birdies and 13 pars. Callens started off the round strong, earning a birdie on the par-4 1st hole. He proceeded to par the next three holes before bogeying the fifth and sixth holes. Callens bounced back with six straight pars before picking up another bogey on the par-4 12th hole. He earned his second birdie of the round on the par-4 16th hole and parred the final two holes to finish the round at one shot over par.
Callens is tied for 25th overall on the individual leaderboard with a 54-hole score of 140 (E) entering tomorrow's final round, and he sits just two strokes back of the top-10. 
Keita Okada had a strong day for the Pack, carding a 71 (+1) to move up 21 spots on the leaderboard, as he finished the day tied for 90th with a two-round score of 146 (+6).
Okada was two-over-par entering the back-nine after bogeying the 3rd and 7th holes. Okada picked up another bogey on 13; however, he closed out the round in stellar fashion, parring holes 14-16 before tallying back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18 to finish out the day.
Alex Maxwell had an exceptional performance in the second round, carding a 70 (E) to move up 38 spots on the leaderboard. He will enter the final round tied for 100th overall with a 54-hole score of 147 (+7).
Maxwell was sensational to commence the round, earning a birdie on four of the first five holes, including three straight to start the day. Maxwell will look to have another strong day tomorrow and continue to move up the leaderboard. 
Trey Davis recorded a score of 76 (+6) in the second round, and he currently sits at a tie for 149th in the individual standings with a two-day score of 153 (+13).
Connor Motherway shot 73 (+3) on day two, and he is tied with Davis on the leaderboard at 149th. Motherway had an immaculate front nine in the second round, recording four birdies to just one bogey.
As a team, the Pack moved up one spot in the standings, and they will commence the final round in 27th place with a 54-hole score of 583 (+23).
Competing as an individual participant, Tom Patterson carded a 75 (+5) on the day, and he is tied for 100th in the standings with a combined score of 147 (+7).
Nevada will complete play at The Goodwin tomorrow, as they are slated to begin the third and final round in the morning. Motherway is scheduled to tee off first at 8:05am with subsequent tee times set for every 12 minutes after Motherway begins.
