Stanford, Calif. - Nevada Men's Golf opened play at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford, Thursday, posting a team total of 283 (+3) to end the day in 13th. 

Riki Matsumoto set the pace for the Pack in round one, posting a one under-par 69 that was highlighted by four birdies offset by three bogies. Matsumoto came home in 33 on his inward nine, making two birdies and no bogies, he sits in 28th. 

Ben Ortwein posted the next best round one score for the Pack, shooting an even-par 70 with a very clean card, making 14 pars. Ortwein's two birdies both came after bogies, showing great resilience and bounce back ability. He sits in 42nd prior to tomorrow's second round.

Freshman Monte Chumchaivate posted his best counting score of his short Wolf Pack career in round one, shooting a one over-par 71 that included two birdies and three bogies, he finished the day in 59th.

The final counting score for the Pack came from Jonathan Kim, who posted a three over-par 73. Kim's round started with a birdie on hole number ten, but he failed to make a birdie for the rest off the day, making four bogeys on his way in. He sits in 91st heading into round two.

Rounding out the Pack starting five was Liam Gobin, posting a seven over-par 77. Gobin played relatively solid most of the day but struggled to keep big numbers off the card, something he will look to clean up in tomorrow's second round. 

The Pack will return to action tomorrow for the second round of The Goodwin.
