SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Nevada men's golf team shot nine-under-par at the conclusion of the first two rounds of play in the Lamkin San Diego Classic at San Diego Country Club in San Diego, Calif.

LSU leads the field at 36-under-par after shooting 540 at the conclusion of two rounds today. No. 15 Notre Dame is second at 21-under (555), host San Diego is third after shooting 15-under (561), No. 8 Washington is fourth at 10-under (566), and No. 45 Nevada is fifth (-9).

The Pack was in second at 13-under after the first 18 holes of play.
A.J. Lintunen was tied for fourth (-5),
Peyton Callens was tied for ninth (-3), and
Michael Sarro was tied for ninth (-3) after the opening round.

Nevada shot two-over to fall to nine-under and slip to fifth after two rounds in the tournament.

Lintunen is tied for 10th after shooting five-under with seven birdies and only two bogies through 36 holes. Lintunen made three straight birdies on nine through 11 to improve to three-under at that time. He shot four-under during the first round and one-under during the second round.

Peyton Callens tied for 25th with a two-under two-round score. Callens shot five-under on Par 5s, which was tied for the second-lowest score on such holes. He knocked in eight birdies to tie for the fifth-most in the tournament and he sank 22 Pars.

Quim Vidal Mora is tied for 44th (+1) after two rounds, finishing with a two-over second round (74) to close out the first day of competition.
Trey Davis and
Michael Sarro shot two-over and are tied for 52nd.

The Pack posted the second-lowest first-round score (277) trailing only LSU (267). LSU has led throughout the first day of play and stretched that advantage to 15 strokes with a 15-under second round.

Nevada is back in action with the final round at the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Tuesday, Mar. 8. The round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
