SENIOR (2021-22) -- Season stats -- Named to Mountain West All-Conference team... Shot the fourth-lowest average score in program history (71.28)... Recorded a fifth-place finish for his highest place of the season at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate after firing off rounds of 72-67-72 (211)... Posted a season-low 65 at The Goodwin during the first round... Finished a career-best 10-under-par at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic... Notched three top-10 finishes.
PRIOR TO NEVADA -- Transfer from Chattanooga where he spent four years … During his four seasons with the Mocs he recorded a scoring average of 74.10 with two victories … One of just seven with multiple career wins in program history … To close out his tenure at Chattanooga he compiled a scoring average of 72.61 over his last 41 rounds … Selected to the All-Southern Conference team following the 2020-21 season … During his all-conference season in 2020-21, led the Mocs with a 72.93 scoring average and collected two wins and three top five … Also included 11 par or better rounds with a team-high four in the 60s … Was also first on the Mocs in birdies (3.23), par or better holes (78.2%), fewest others (0.46), as well as par 3 (3.17) and par 4 (4.12) scoring.
HIGH SCHOOL -- All-State performer at Chattanooga's Baylor School in 2016 … Named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps first team in 2017 and earned the Jim Phifer Award … During the 2016 TSSAA Division 2-AA State Championship he tied for third place and was the runner-up in the fourth event of the 2017 Audi Finnish Pro Tour.
PERSONAL -- Son of Jouko and Elina Lintunen … Has two older brothers, Juuso and Joonas … Full name is Antti-Jussi but goes by A.J. … Earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga … Chose Nevada because he wanted a school with a good schedule and he wanted to attend school in an area new to him … Lists Tiger Woods as his sports hero … The most memorable moment of his pre-Nevada career was playing in a European Challenge Tour event … Enjoys playing ice hockey and tennis in his free time.
