STANFORD, Calif. –
A.J. Lintunen and
Peyton Callens shot dueling 65 to tie for third and put Nevada in a tie for fifth after the first round at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford at Stanford Golf Course Thursday.

Host No. 14 Stanford leads the field at 12-under (268). SMU is second after shooting a 270 (-10), No. 9 Washington (-9) is tied with No. 11 Georgia Tech (-9) for third, and No. 47 Nevada (-8) is tied for fifth with BYU (-8) to round out the top five.
The Pack shot its seventh-lowest score in program history (272) to end Day 1 in a tie with Brigham Young for fifth. Lintunen recorded only one bogey and made six birdies during his opening-round 65 (-5) putting him in a tie for third with Callens (-5). Callens made seven birdies and just two bogeys during his opening round.

Quim Vidal Mora (+1) is tied for 71 after running into a couple of bumpy holes on 10 and 13 with double bogeys. Vidal Mora made four birdies to recover from his early-round trouble with clean golf on the front nine to close his round.
Tom Patterson (+1) is even with Vidal Mora in 71
st. Patterson eagled one and sank four birdies, three on the front nine to recover from a bogey-filled back-nine after starting the round on 10.

Trey Davis (+2) shot 72 to tie for 87th after the opening 18 holes. Davis strung together three straight birdies on seven through nine to close the round today.

The Pack is back in action with round two of The Goodwin beginning with a shotgun start for the opening wave of teams at 8:10 a.m.
