PALM DESERT, Calif. – The 45th ranked Nevada men's golf team is tied for fourth after the first round of play in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.

Nevada is two shots back after a one-under round, trailing Charlotte (-3) and Long Beach State (-3) tied for first after 18 holes. Seattle University (-2) is third and UT Arlington (-1) is sharing fourth with Nevada (-1).

Quim Vidal Mora (-2) leads the way for Nevada after shooting 70 to hit the clubhouse tied for eighth. Vidal Mora was solid on par threes, posting a one-under round and solid on par-five with a two-under score.

A.J. Lintunen and
Trey Davis are even-par after rounds of 72 following the opening 18 holes of play. Lintunen birdied four and 13 and Davis sank birdies on one, seven, nine, 13, 14, and 18 during Round 1.

Peyton Callens shot a one-over 73 with three birdies, one bogey, and one double-bogey on his scorecard today. Callens is tied for 30th going into tomorrow's second round.
Tom Patterson shot a 74 to complete round one two-over and tied for 46th.

Connor Motherway, playing as an individual, shot a 79 (+7) to end the opening 18 tied for 96th.

Nevada finished the day with 17 birdies which is tied for the most in the tournament with Long Beach State, Colorado, Charlotte, and Boise State. The Pack led the field with 61 pars during 18 holes played today.

All teams will play the remaining two 18-hole rounds with one each on Thursday, March 3, and Friday, March 4.

The Pack is back in action tomorrow, with round two of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The round is scheduled to get underway at 8:40 a.m.
