LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Nevada men's golf team wrapped up its first event of 2021, scoring a tie for 15
th place at The Prestige.
The Wolf Pack posted a team score of 298 in Wednesday's final round to finish the tournament at 27-over par and tied with Cal Poly for 15
th in the 24-team field. Arizona and North Carolina were co-champions of the event as both finished at 4-under par. The nation's No. 1 team Pepperdine was the only other team in the field to finish under par at 3-under.
Individually for the Wolf Pack, newcomer
Brendan MacDougall carded the low round of the day as he shot a 1-under 70 in the final round. MacDougall did not post anything worse than bogey on his scorecard and added three birdies to his round. He finished the tournament at 7-over par and tied for 53
rd in the 120-player field.
Junior
Trey Davis recorded the best overall finish in the tournament for Nevada, tying for 29
th place. Davis shot a 5-over 76 in Wednesday's final round to finish at 4-over par. Senior
Sam Harned tied for 44
th place at 6-over par after carding a 78 in round three. Fellow senior
Sam Meek tied for 91
st and freshman
Tom Patterson finished in a tie for 108
th in his collegiate debut. Junior
Peyton Callens, who was playing in a separate event and entered as an individual, tied for 32
nd at that event at 4-over par.
Nevada will return to action March 8-10 at the Lamkin San Diego Classic at San Diego Country Club.
