RENO, Nev. – The Nevada men's golf team is set to open the tournament portion of its spring season next week at the Olympic Club Intercollegiate.
 
The two-day, 54-hole event begins on Monday, March 11 with the first 36 holes and will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes. The tournament, hosted by the University of San Francisco, will be played at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. The field will play on the Lake Course at the Olympic Club with varying yardages each round.
 
This is the second spring event for the Wolf Pack as it opened up its spring season last weekend with a duel match against No. 10 SMU. Nevada fell in the match play event 5-1, with its only head-to-head win coming from sophomore Joey Vrzich.
 
Vrzich will be the Pack's No. 1 next week and will be joined in the lineup by juniors Sam Meek and Stephen Osborne, sophomore Sam Harned and freshman Trey Davis. Vrzich owns the lowest scoring average on the team at an impressive 69.6, which is on pace to set the single season program record. Meek, Osborne and Harned, along with Vrzich, have played in all five of Nevada's tournaments this season, but this will be Davis' fourth overall.
