SOPHOMORE (2018-19) – Selected to the All-Mountain West team … Was placed on the Haskins Award watch list in the fall … Named Mountain West Golfer of the Month twice during the fall season … Won two tournaments during the year, the season opening Badger Invite and the Nick Watney Invitational … Earned two wins and two runner-up finishes in his first four events of the year … Played in all 11 events during his sophomore season … Compiled a scoring average of 71.76, which led the team and is the sixth-best single season mark in program history … His career scoring average of 72.30 is second all-time at Nevada … Carded a career-low round, and the lowest round in program history, of 61 at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational … Played the year at 14-over par but finished under par in four events … Shot 18 of his 33 rounds played at par or better … His season-low tournament score to par was 14-under at the Nick Watney Invitational … Collected 115 birdies on the year, which ranked second on the team, and added two eagles and 365 pars.
FRESHMAN (2017-18) – Competed in all 11 of Nevada’s events in his rookie season … Compiled a scoring average of 72.84 in his 33 rounds played, third best on the team … Played the year at 37-over par … Shot a season-low round of 66 at the Jackrabbit Invitational where he also earned his best finish of the season, sole possession of 10th, and made a season-high 16 birdies … Recorded 109 birdies on the year, second most on the team, and had two eagles … Notched four top 20 finishes … His best tournament score to par came at the National Invitational Tournament where he finished at 5-under par … Had four events where he finished under par … Played 17 of his 33 rounds at par or better, second most on the team … His par 4 scoring average of 4.0948 ranks ninth in a single season at Nevada … Helped the Wolf Pack reach NCAA Regionals with an at-large bid for the first time since 2007 … Tied for 26th at NCAA Regionals … Letter winner.
HIGH SCHOOL – Four-time letter winner in golf at Christian High School in El Cajon, Calif. … Helped lead his team to the Division 3 CIF Championship in 2015 … First team All-CIF honoree and ranked first in league and conference play … Set the course record at Rams Hill Golf Course with an impressive round of 59 and has a junior golf team title under his belt … Has played in a number of tournaments, including a win at the Canadian International Junior Challenge where he shot rounds of 73, 69 and 74 … Has multiple runner-up and top five finishes to his name, including a second place showing at the Future Collegians World Tour event in Arizona.
PERSONAL – Son of Mike and Nicol Vrzich … Has two older brothers, Jerrod and Justin, and one younger brother, John … His brother Justin plays golf at a community college … Plans to major in general business and minor in communications … He chose Nevada because his parents have owned a place in Northern Nevada for over 20 years so it feels like home … Also recruited by San Diego State, San Diego, Iowa State, Colorado and Oregon State … Lists Jordan Spieth as his sports hero … Enjoys working out, playing golf and watching television in his spare time.
