PALO ALTO, Calif. – On day two of The Goodwin from Stanford Golf Course, the Nevada men's golf team jumped nine spots into 16
th place with 18 holes remaining.
The Wolf Pack shot an even par team round of 280 on Friday, which was tied for the second-lowest team score of the day. That even par round helped Nevada leap into 16
th place in the 26-team field, the second biggest jump of the afternoon. The Pack is at 24-over par for the tournament and is one shot out of the top 15. Tournament host Stanford took over the lead on Friday and leads No. 6 USC by seven strokes heading into the final round. The Cardinal is the only team currently under par.
Nevada continued to be led by sophomore
Sam Harned, who is in the mix for the individual title. Harned fired a 3-under 67 today to go from a tie for 25
th into a tie for third place. He is at 2-under for the tournament and trails Kaito Onishi of USC for the lead. Harned collected six birdies during his second round and did not commit anything higher than a bogey on his scorecard.
Making the biggest jump for the Pack however, was freshman
Trey Davis. Davis carded a career-low 69 during round two to leap 51 spots on the individual leaderboard and into a tie for 47
th in the 135-player field. He tallied five birdies during his round, including two on his final four holes. Junior
Stephen Osborne also made big strides on Friday, moving up 41 spots and into a tie for 84
th. He rebounded nicely from an opening round 80 to post an even par 70 in round two. Osborne had a few blemishes in the middle of his round, but collected two birdies on his last three holes to close out his round.

th place is junior
Sam Meek, the reigning Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week. Meek posted his best round of the tournament so far with a 4-over 74 today. Meek had a couple of highlights during his round, making two eagles on holes No. 7 and 16. Meek now has three eagles in this event after he also eagled No. 7 yesterday. Sophomore
Joey Vrzich rounded out the list of Pack golfers with a round of 80 on Friday. He enters Saturday's final round tied for 131
st.
