PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – After two rounds of the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course, the 36
th-ranked Nevada men's golf team is in 16
th place.
The Wolf Pack posted a team round of 301 on Tuesday and is 30-over par for the tournament with one round remaining. In the 18-team field, Nevada sits one shot ahead of Washington State and is three shots above Toledo. No. 19 BYU continues to lead the event and is 19-under par, 14 shots ahead of second place No. 8 Pepperdine.
Junior
Sam Harned led the Pack on Tuesday, carding a 2-over 73. He is 4-over for the event and in a tie for 51
st in the 104-player field. Fellow junior
Stephen Osborne finished one shot behind Harned for his second round, turning in a 3-over 74. Osborne leads all Pack players in a tie for 42
nd place. Newcomer
Tony Gil matched his round of 76 from yesterday and is now 10-over for the event and tied for 73
rd. Junior
Sam Meek and sophomore
Joey Vrzich both produced rounds of 78 on Tuesday and Meek is tied for 81
st while Vrzich is tied for 86
th.
Peter Kuest of BYU also continues to lead on the individual side. Kuest has recorded rounds of 61 and 69 to sit at 12-under par, seven shots ahead of Craig Ronne of Oregon.
