Ceres, Calif. - Nevada's Men's and Women's Cross Country programs completed the Kim Duyst Twilight in Ceres, California, Saturday Sept. 13.
First up on race day was the Men's 8k, where the Wolf Pack finished 9th and had two finishers in the top-50 out of the 210-person field.
Austin Key once again led the way for the Pack, running the 10th fastest 8k time in Wolf Pack program history. He was followed by
Elijah Chavez, who ran 25:25.0 to place 62nd, with
Eddie Yunker right behind in 65th at 25:26.3.
Sergio Mazon clocked a time of 25:28.3 to take 69th.
Next across the line was Soma Baligad, finishing 86th in 25:48.3. Pierce Simpkins was the next finisher in 127th at 26:35.9, then rounding out the Pack's finishers was Jett Leavitt in 155th with a time of 27:37.4.
The 6k was next up for the women, where the Pack finished 5th and had three finishers in the top-25.
Natalia Martino led the way for the Wolf Pack with a standout race, finishing 6th overall in 21:14.6. She was followed by Madelyn Shipman, who placed 22nd with a time of 21:41.0, and Aubrey Thompson, right behind in 24th at 21:44.5. Also breaking into the top-35 was Kylee Denver, who clocked 21:52.6 to finish 32nd, with Paulina Hultberg just a few steps back in 33rd at 21:57.8.
The Pack's next finisher was Natalie Roberts, who crossed in 22:23.6 to take 47th. Skylar Bennett wasn't far behind, placing 57th with a time of 22:38.7. Rounding out Nevada's lineup was Marina Renna, finishing 113th in 23:39.0.
The Pack return to action on October 4 for the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Oregon.
