RENO, Nev. - Nevada Cross Country announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season, Tuesday.
The Pack will kick off the season at the Saint Mary's College Invite, hosted by Saint Mary's, Friday, September 18, in Concord, California, at Newhall Park. This will be the Gael's inaugural meet with the Pack joining as participants.
The Pack will continue their season three weeks later at the Charles Bowles Invite, hosted in Salem, Oregon, Saturday, October 3, competing at McCulloch Stadium and Bush Park. The Pack will head to Salem for the second year in a row, coming off 5th (women) and 6th (men) placed finishes last season.
Two weeks after that, the squads will travel to Sunnyvale, California, for the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara, Saturday, October 17, at Baylands Park. The Pack have a long track record at this meet having competed at the Bronco's meet three times in the last five seasons, giving the Pack a good amount of experience with the course.
The Pack will close out the regular season by hosting the Credit Union One 2026 Mountain West Cross Country Championships at home, Friday, October 30, at Washoe County Golf Course. Nevada most recently served as host for the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional, when many of the nation's top distance runners competed at Washoe Golf Course. That experience helped showcase Reno's ability to host championship-caliber events and provides a familiar setting for teams returning to compete for conference titles.
Following the conference championships, Nevada will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the NCAA Regional Championships, Friday, November 13, at the North Golf Course.
Last season, the Wolf Pack men and women both finished eighth at the Mountain West Championships in Fresno, California, with the men scoring 245 points and the women 241. Austin Key paced the men with a 51st-place finish in 24:33.5, closely trailed by Eddie Yunker in 54th, while Madelyn Shipman led the women with a 53rd-place effort. In the postseason, Nevada's men placed 18th and the women 16th at the NCAA Mountain Regional in Salt Lake City, with Natalia Martino leading the women in 76th and Austin Key leading the men in 83rd, a personal-best 33:13.9 that now ranks as the 16th-fastest 10K in program history.
