Reno, Nev - Nevada Cross Country announced its schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, Wednesday.
"Our schedule is built around our goals and needs as a team this year." Said
Logan Stahl. "I am excited to attend some different meets as compared to our previous schedules. The Mountain West Championships at Woodward Park provides the team an unique opportunity as so many of them have raced there before."
The squad will be starting their season at the USF Invitational hosted by the University of San Francisco, Friday, August 29. This will be the squads first time competing at the meet since 2023, where the men's team placed 4th and the women's team placed 9th. The Pack will face mostly west coast schools at the meet. They will continue their season in Ceres, California for Stanislaus State's Kim Duyst Twilight on Saturday, September 13.
After a three-week break the squads will return to competition at the Willamette Invitational, hosted by Willamette University, Saturday, October 4. This will be the first time the Pack have competed at the event. Two weeks later the Pack will be competing at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara, Saturday, October 18. The Pack are no stranger to the the Bronco's meet, having competed 11 times with a men's 3rd place finish in 2022 the best finish for either program.
The Pack will round out their regular season at the Mountain West Championships in Fresno, California, Friday, October 31. This will be a great chance for the squads to see where they stand before looking towards the postseason. Following the conclusion of the conference championships, the Pack will head to Salt Lake City, Utah for the NCAA Mountain Region Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 14.
Last season, the Wolf Pack men and women each finished seventh at the Mountain West Championships. Between the two squads, they had ten top-65 finishes, led by
Claire Nelson's 34th-place effort on the women's side and
Daniel Sayo's 49th-place finish for the men. In the postseason, Nevada's
Daniel Sayo and
Ashley Boone turned in strong performances at the NCAA Mountain Regional in Reno, with Sayo placing 64th — the second-highest regional finish by a male Wolf Pack runner since the program was reinstated in 2019 — and Boone recording a personal best in the women's race. The men finished 14th and the women placed 17th in the team standings.
