RENO, Nev. - Nevada Men's and Women's Cross Country begin their respective 2025 campaigns Friday, competing at the USF Invitational hosted by the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, California.
The meet is set for Golden Gate Park, with the women's 6k race set for a 2:00 p.m. start followed by the men's 8k race at 3:00 p.m.
West coast schools will make up the bulk of the USF Invitational field, including, Cal, Stanford, Fresno State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and UC Davis.Â
Friday's race is the first of four regular-season meets for both Wolf Pack squads ahead of the Oct. 31 Mountain West Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Fresno, Calif.
The Pack teams will compete at the Kim Duyst Twilight in Ceres, California on Sept. 13, at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Oregon, Oct. 4, and at the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara in Sunnyvale, on Oct. 18, California before turning their attention to the postseason.
Tryon Jardin leads the Wolf Pack men into the new campaign following a 58th-place finish at last year's regional. Prior to that, Jardin put together the second best individual finish for the men at the Mountain West Championships placing 26th last fall.
On the women's side,
Natalia Martino (35th at the Mountain West Championships) is the top returner for the Pack on the women's side. Martino led the way for the women at the NCAA Mountain Regional, where she placed 88th in the 6k.Â
