RENO, Nev. - Nevada men's golfer Enrique Dimayua is set to begin play at the NCAA Stanford Regional Monday morning, as he is scheduled to tee off at the Stanford Golf Course at 11:04 a.m.
The Stanford Regional is a three-day, 54-hole event with golfers slated to play one round each day beginning on Monday and concluding on Wednesday.
Dimayuga is making his second career appearance in the NCAA Regionals as an individual qualifier, as the senior from London, England accomplished the feat in 2021, finishing tied for 28th at the event.
Competing in a field of 75 of the premier golfers in the country this week, Dimayuga will aim to finish as the top individual on the leaderboard not on an advancing team and secure a spot in the 2024 NCAA Championships.Â
Dimayuga has been spectacular for Nevada since joining the program ahead of the 2024 spring season. He enters the Stanford Regional as the number one ranked individual to qualify for the event, and the 63rd ranked golfer in the country after a dominant spring season. The senior competed in eight events, claiming four top-three finishes, including three individual titles. Dimayuga compiled an exceptional adjusted scoring average of 69.8 across 23 rounds this spring. Dimayuga will seek to put together another exceptional performance, as he pursues a spot in NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California.Â
The Course
The Stanford Golf Course is a par-70 spanning 6,727 yards. Consistently rated as one of the premier courses in the world, the Stanford Golf Course has played host to a variety of prolific events, including U.S. Open Qualifying, The Women's NCAA Championships, and the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying.Â
The Field
The 14-team field at the Stanford Regional consists of Ole Miss, Illinois, Texas A&M, UCLA, SMU, Missouri, Fresno State, UNLV, Augusta, Liberty, Sacramento State, Siena, Florida State, and the host school Stanford. In addition to Dimayuga, the individual qualifiers in the field include Joe Sykes (Idaho), Cole Rueck (Boise State), Jakob Melin (USF), and Ben Warian (Minnesota).
