Kim, Okada Continue to Pace Pack on Day Two of Mountain West Championships

CRESWELL, Ore. - For the second consecutive day, Jonathan Kim and Keita Okada led the way for the Nevada Men's Golf team at the 2024 Mountain West Championships, as each golfer has placed themselves in contention for an individual with 18 holes remaining.

As a team, Nevada posted a score of 293 (+5) for the second round, placing them in the eighth spot on the team leaderboard at +2. The Pack sits six strokes outside of the top-five with one round to go.

Okada had an impressive performance for the second consecutive day for Nevada, recording a team-best score of 72 (E) across the second round. The senior tallied 14 pars, two bogeys, and two birdies throughout the day, and he is tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard at -2 entering the final round. Okada trails the leader by five strokes, and he sits just two strokes outside of the top-five in the standings.

Kim also had a strong outing for the Pack on Saturday, carding a 73 (+1) in difficult weather conditions. The freshman had a challenging start, as he tallied three pars, three bogeys, a double bogey, and one birdie across the first eight holes; however, he found his rhythm and significantly elevated his play over the final 10 holes. Kim earned a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole, before recording seven pars and two birdies on the back-nine. After 36 holes of play, Kim is tied for seventh on the leaderboard at -3, as he aims to secure the first top-10 finish of his young career.

Liam Gobin and Enrique Dimayuga each posted second round scores of 74 (+2) on Saturday. Gobin tallied 13 pars and two birdies in the round, and he is tied for 35th overall at +3 heading into round three. Dimayuga is one shot back from Gobin on the leaderboard, as he is tied for 39th at +4. The senior recorded 12 pars, one birdie, and one eagle throughout the second round.

After not competing on Friday, Supakit (Oak) Seelanage entered the Wolf Pack lineup for the second round and carded a score of 77 (+5) after tallying 12 pars and one birdie.
