TUCSON, Ariz. - Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae led the way for the Nevada Men's Golf team on the first day of competition at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, completing the first two rounds of play four shots over par to conclude tied for 23rd on the individual leaderboard.
As a team, Nevada completed the day tied for ninth at +26. The Pack had an impressive start to the day, recording a score of 296 (+8) for the first round, before compiling a score of 306 (+18) in the afternoon round.Â
Seelanagae carded a 75 (+3) to open the day, after tallying 11 pars, two birdies, and five bogeys. Seelanagae had a stellar second round, as he advanced 15 spots on the leaderboard in the afternoon by carding a 73 (+1). Seelanagae recorded 11 pars, three birdies, and four bogeys throughout the second round. He will enter the final round in a tie for 23rd.
Liam Gobin also had a solid day for the Pack, recording a 36-hole score of 149 (+5) to conclude the day tied for 29th in the individual standings. Gobin had an impressive first round, carding a 73 (+1) to open the event. Gobin tallied 11 pars, three birdies, and four bogeys during the first set of 18 holes. In the second round, Gobin shot 75 (+3), placing him in a tie for 29th entering the third and final round.
Enrique Dimayuga had an exceptional first round performance for Nevada, as he carded an even par 72. Dimayuga had 11 pars and four birdies throughout the first round. The senior struggled in the afternoon round, recording a score of 78 (+6), and he will enter the final round tied for 36th.
Jonathan Kim and Tom Patterson rounded out the Wolf Pack lineup. Kim completed the first two rounds tied for 56th at +11, while Patterson is tied for 61st at +12 after 36 holes of play.Â
Nevada will return to the course tomorrow morning for the third and final round of the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate.Â
