RENO, Nev. – Highlighted by
Daniel Sayo and
Claire Nelson's first place finishes, the Nevada men placed second out of two teams, while the women placed third out of three teams overall at the Mountain Regional Preview at Washoe County Golf Course Monday morning.
Â
This is the second year in a row Nevada has hosted a home meet, the last time being the Nevada Twilight Classic in 2022 where the men's squad finished first overall and the women took second. Regionally ranked sixth on the men's side and ninth on the women's, the Utah State squads each placed first with a combined seven top-five finishers among both groups. The Aggie men finished with 21 points, while the Nevada men finished 19 points behind the Aggies with 40 overall. The Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine women's team finished second with two top-eight finishes and 51 points, with Nevada just behind in third place with 56 points.
