Valentine invited to U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team Domestic Training Camp

RENO, Nev. - Nevada soccer head coach Vanessa Valentine is one of 16 players invited for a domestic training camp by the U.S. Women's Beach Soccer National Team held until July 10 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Southern California.

Valentine was a member of the Beach WNT that competed at the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games Qualifiers in El Salvador back in April and helped the team qualify for the games that were scheduled for August. The first-year head coach for the Pack also competed for the Beach WNT in the 2022 ANOC World Beach Qualifiers and the 2021 Women's Intercontinental Cup.

Although the ANOC World Beach Games were canceled on July 4 by ANOC, the camp will serve as preparation for its next international event. U.S. Soccer will now target another competitive event for the team based on the Beach Soccer Worldwide international calendar.

As a player and a three-time captain for Cal State Fullerton, Valentine was a three-time All-Big West honoree while playing for the Titans. Valentine played professionally in the WPSL for 10 years, spending time with Beach FC, the LA Strikers, San Diego United and the Colorado Force. She also played one season with the Philadelphia Independence in the National Women's Soccer League.

Prior to leading the Pack, Valentine served as an assistant coach at Cal for one season. She played an instrumental role in Cal's 10-win season and at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2022.

Valentine has previously served as a head coach for the LA Galaxy San Diego Women's Premier Soccer League Team and Cal Poly Pomona. Her previous stops as an assistant coach include Oregon State, Seattle Pacific and Hope International. She has also spent time coaching youth soccer at a variety of age ranges for some of the most decorated clubs in Southern California, including three different U.S. Soccer Development Academies.

Nevada Soccer will play its first regular season match under Valentine's leadership Aug. 17 at Virginia, a 2022 NCAA Quarterfinalist. The Pack open play at Mackay Stadium Sept. 3 against UC Riverside.

Season tickets are available for purchase now, starting at just $25 for youth and $45 for adults. Every season ticket holder will receive an exclusive season ticket-holder gift while supplies last.

Nevada Soccer is also hosting various camps in July, starting with the Nevada Youth Soccer Academy on July 9. Nevada will host its second ID Camp at Mackay Stadium July 11-12. More information and registration can be found here
