Wolf Pack Soccer Comes Up Short in Home Battle with Pacific

Box Score RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Women's Soccer team showed grit and determination Thursday night but ultimately fell 2-1 to Pacific in a competitive non-conference matchup at Mackay Stadium.

Pacific came out aggressive, capitalizing on early chances to score twice in the opening half. Nevada struggled to find rhythm early on but regrouped at halftime and returned to the pitch with renewed urgency.

Freshman forward Naima Castro gave the Pack a lifeline in the 68th minute, breaking through the defense and calmly finishing to cut the deficit in half. The goal injected energy into the squad as they pressed for an equalizer.

Nevada continued to apply pressure in the final minutes, creating several dangerous opportunities, but Pacific's defense held firm to secure the win.

The Wolf Pack now turns its attention to next Thursday, when they travel south to face San Diego State in another non-conference matchup.
