TUCSON, Ariz. - The Nevada Men's Golf team recorded a combined score of 292 (+4) on the second day of competition at the Mountain West Championships, placing them in a tie for ninth place on the team leaderboard entering the final round.
Keita Okada maintained his position at the top of the Wolf Pack lineup, carding a 75 (+3) throughout the second round. Okada is tied for 26th on the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 143 (-1). The junior tallied 11 pars and two birdies in the second round.
Alex Maxwell shot 73 (+1) in the second round for the second consecutive day; and, the freshman sits in a tie for 35th overall. Maxwell recorded 11 pars, three birdies, and three bogeys throughout the day.
Peyton Callens also recorded a 73 (+1) across the second set of 18 holes, bringing his overall score to 147 (+3). Callens is tied for 39th on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round.
Tom Patterson posted the best individual score for Nevada in the second round, carding an even par 72. Patterson moved up four spots on the leaderboard Saturday, and he will enter the final round in 45th place.
Trey Davis bounced back in the second round, carding a 74 (+2) on the day. Davis is tied for 50th on the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 154 (+10).
Nevada will return to the course Sunday morning to close out tournament play, as they are scheduled to begin at 7:40am. Davis is set to tee off first, with subsequent tee times set for every eight minutes following.
