RENO, Nev. -Â A busy week of Wolf Pack Athletics is on tap, with five teams in action, and three beginning Mountain West play.
Football, Soccer, and Volleyball each open Mountain West play this weekend, while Cross Country travels to Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational. Women's Golf, after wrapping its first fall tournament Tuesday, heads out to Fort Collins for the Colonel Wolenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic next Monday-Tuesday.Â
FOOTBALLÂ
Nevada (2-2, 0-0 MW) has a quick turnaround from its marathon at Iowa, opening Mountain West play Friday against Air Force (2-1, 0-1 MW) at Falcon Stadium. Saturday's 5 p.m. PT contest will be aired on FS1 with Alex Faust (play-by-play) and Petros Papadakis (analyst) on the call.
The Wolf Pack Radio Network will call the game as well on ESPN 94.5 FM with John Ramey (play-by-play) and Mike Edwards (analyst) in the booth, with the 60-minute pregame show to begin at 4 p.m. PT.

VOLLEYBALLÂ
Nevada volleyball begins conference play on the road against Fresno State and San Diego State this weekend. The Pack will firstly travel to Fresno, Calif. to face the Fresno State Bulldogs on Thursday at 6 p.m. The squad will then travel to San Diego, Calif. for a match against the San Diego State Aztecs at 1 p.m.
The Pack is coming out of a split weekend at the Oklahoma tournament. Nevada fell 3-0 against Oklahoma while winning 3-0 against Texas Southern.Â

SOCCER
Nevada women's soccer begins Mountain West play with the two top performing teams in the conference from non-league play. The Pack begins its quest to the Mountain West tournament by facing Utah State at 6:30 p.m. at Mackay Stadium on Thursday. Nevada travels Boise State on Sunday at noon PST to wrap up the weekend.Â
Utah State is 3-2-4 this season, drawing even with No. 25 BYU and ending non-conference play with a 1-0 victory over Northern Colorado. London Miller leads Utah State with three goals and assist through nine game and the Aggies have collected 27 saves to go with a 1.11 goals against average.Â
Boise State leads the conference with a 4-2-3 record, which includes a 3-1 win over Oregon earlier this year. The Broncos are led by freshman Hayden Wilsey, who has scored seven goals and was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in 2022.Â
Last Time Out
Behind two goals with under 20 minutes to play, Pacific clinched the win over Nevada 2-1 last Thursday at Mackay Stadium in the non-conference finale. Pacific fired 26 shots to Nevada's five and obtained seven corner kicks. Fifth year goalkeeperÂ
Kendal Stovall recorded a season-high seven saves in the net.Â

CROSS COUNTRY
Nevada men's and women's cross country travel to University of Minnesota to compete at the Roy Griak Invitational. The meet starts Friday, Sep. 23 at Les Bolstad Golf Course, kicking off with the men's 8K race at 8:30 a.m. (PT) and the women's 6K race at 9:15 a.m. (PT).Â
The Pack women are no stranger to this event, having traveled to this meet three times before. For the men, this will only be their second time competing here since the addition of men's cross country in 2019.Â
Over twenty division I programs will be in attendance, including two nationally ranked teams on the men's side and four on the women, including in-conference rival Colorado State who is ranked 14th nationally.Â
The Wolf Pack is coming off a three-week break after an impressive season-opener at the Nevada Twilight Classic. The men finished first overall and getting their second team win since 2019. Nevada also claimed all top-five spots in the 7K, sophomore
Daniel Sayo getting his first career win. The women finished in second place, just behind UC Riverside.
Emily Clarke earned the Pack's highest win with fourth place in the 5K, along with juniors
Marije Hijman,
Paige Penrose, and sophomore Claire Nelson finishing in the top-10.Â

The squad has their annual Blue vs Silver scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 23. The events will occur at Lombardi Pool at 2:30 p.m.Â

The day will firstly start with a scavenger hunt, followed by a spirit competition where the teams are going to be dresses up to show some school spirit. The spirit award will be followed by 50s of each stroke (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle), a medley relay, 1-meter springboard, a 25 yards race done by the divers, and a swimmers competition on the 1-meter dive.
