BREMERTON, Wash. – The No. 34 Nevada men's golf team finished third at the Mountain West Championship.
Quim Vidal Mora shot eight-under to finish tied for third and lead the Pack.

San Diego State shot two-under to finish 22-under par and win the Championship by four strokes over Boise State (-18). Nevada shot one under during the final round and closed its lowest round of the tournament (287) with a 10-under to finish third.

"We didn't have our best stuff this week, but it was another solid event for us," said Head Coach
Jacob Wilner. "We need to prepare for the NCAA Regionals and hopefully keep that top-five trend going."

Vidal Mora closed with a 68 marking his second-lowest round of the tournament and rebounded nicely from an opening-round 73 with two-under-par rounds. He climbed four spots into contention during the final day of play and posted a 208 for the tournament. The 208-score tied for the second-lowest score in the Mountain West Championship in program history (2014-15; Corey Eddings, 66-69-73=208 (-5).

"Quim (Vidal Mora) has had a historic season so far," said Coach Wilner. "He has a knack for hanging around the leaderboard and has been a huge part of our success in the regular season."

Trey Davis was tied for the lead after the first round with a 67 and held onto a tie for second following the second round (69). Davis found some trouble late in the final round today with a double-bogey on 17 and bogey on 18 to drop to five-over for the round and slip into a tie for 12th, which is where he finished the championship.

A.J. Lintunen dropped his score on consecutive days after shooting 76 during the opening round and following up that effort with a 71 (Round 2), and 72 (Round 3) to close out his championship. Lintunen finished tied for 25th at three-over for the event, making three birdies today.

Michael Sarro (t-28) finished four-over after a closing-round 73 (+1) with three birdies on the back-nine of the final 18. The 73 today tied for his second-lowest round of the year.
Peyton Callens (t-36) finished with a two-over 74, making two birdies but running into trouble on 11 with a double bogey and closing his tournament at eight-over.

The Pack awaits the selection show on May 4 at 1 p.m. on Golf Channel. No. 34 Nevada expects to compete in one of 6 regionals throughout the country in the NCAA Championships. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will be selected to compete at three regionals while the other three regionals will feature 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. Thirty teams and six individuals not on those qualifying teams will then advance to the national finals.
