RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's soccer forward
Emily Rich and goalkeeper
Kendal Stovall were named to the Mountain West's All-Conference Second Team, the conference announced on Sunday.Â
The accolades mark the first time Nevada has had multiple players listed on the All-Mountain West first or second team since joining the conference in 2012. It is the first time since 2009 a pair of Wolf Pack women's soccer players earned first or second team all-conference honors in the same season, when Nevada was a member of the WAC.Â
After obtaining All-Mountain West Newcomer team honors in 2018, Stovall put her name in the Nevada women's soccer record books. She collected the program's career saves record on Oct. 16 against New Mexico, finishing her career with 430 saves. Stovall also set the program record for career minutes with 7,188 and tied the program record for career shutouts with 13.Â
Stovall finished the regular season leading the Mountain West in saves with 95 and saves per game with a 5.59 mark, collecting the ninth-most saves in a single season in Nevada women's soccer history. In addition to accumulating the third-most shutouts in a single season in program history with five, Stovall's .779 save percentage in 2022 was the seventh-best a Nevada women's soccer goalkeeper in one year.Â
The Mililani, Hawaii, native ranked fourth in the Mountain West in shutouts while finishing fifth among conference goalkeepers in save percentage in 2022. In her five-year career, Stovall captured top 10 spots in the program career record book in save percentage (third, .773), goalkeeper wins (third, 17), and goals against average (fifth, 1.58).Â
Earning All-Mountain West Newcomer Team honors last season, Rich became the second player in program history to land a spot on both the conference's Newcomer Team and All-Conference Second Team during her Nevada career. Rich led the Pack in goals, assists and points in 2022.Â
Rich ranked fourth in the Mountain West in assists with four while being tied for sixth in the conference in assists per game. The Coarsegold, California, native also scored four goals and accumulated 12 points on the season.Â
Rich also made more history on Sept. 4 against Sacramento State, becoming the first player in program history to record three assists in one match. Rich already has the eighth-most career assists in program history with eight.Â
With the help of Rich and Stovall, Nevada came up with three top 10 spots in the program's single season record book. The 2022 team ranked fifth in shutouts (5), sixth in assists (13) and sixth in corner kicks (82).Â
