PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Nevada men's golf team completed the opening round of The Goodwin today and is in 25
th place.
The Wolf Pack combined for a team score of 304 in the first round and sits at 24-over par. Nevada is currently in 25
th place of the 26 teams. Washington leads the field after 18 holes at 2-under par. The Huskies lead by one stroke over tournament host Stanford. The Huskies and Cardinal are the only teams under par.
Nevada was led on day one by sophomore
Sam Harned, who fired a 1-over 71. Harned made three birdies on the front nine and is tied for 25
th in the 135-player field. Junior
Sam Meek shot a 76 in the opening round but made an eagle on No. 7. Meek is currently tied for 91
st. Freshman
Trey Davis is one shot behind Meek in a tie for 98
th after shooting a 77 in the first round. Sophomore
Joey Vrzich and junior
Stephen Osborne both finished day one with an 80 and are tied for 125
th.
