MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Nevada swim and dive team wrapped up the Mountain West Championship on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. The Pack finished second as a team with 1,261.50 points, San Diego State took first.
In the first event of the night, the 1650 free,
Caitlyn McHugh took third overall with a time 16:37.06.
Lindsey Soule finished eighth with a time of 16:47.76 and
Alexa Markl took 23rd with a time of 17:23.09.
Next was the 200 back where
Montana Lloyd finished 15th with a time of 2:00.71 while Soule finished 16th with a time of 2:02.91. Freshman
Julia Adamczyk finished ninth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.43.
The 200 breast saw three finish in the top-15 with
Wiktoria Samula taking sixth with a time of 2:13.51 and
Donna dePolo with a time of 2:14.53 took seventh.
Mikayla Dance finished 12th with a 2:16.28.
Rebecca Murray claimed the title in the 100 free for the second year in a row with a time of 49.11.
Andressa Cholodovskis took fourth while
Caitlyn Richardson took 11th with a time of 50.60.
Jamie Reynolds finished 19th with a time of 50.95.
Toma Shmitova got the gold in the platform with a score of 263.30 with teammate
Victoria Rice took the bronze with a 245.45.
Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez finished fourth with 240.85 and
Linnea Sorensen came in eighth with 218.70.
The final event of the night was the 400 free relay comprised of Cholodovskis, Richardson, Reynolds and Murray, took the silver medal back to Reno with a time of 3:19.73.
