RENO, Nev.  – The women's cross country team returned home today after spending four days training at Donner Lake.
Â
"The Donner Lake training camp is a fabulous way to kick off the season," says head coach
Kirk Elias. "Cooler, beautiful and fabulous trails all around tied with a great opportunity to create a team, the training camp is a big part of what we do."
Â
The team has been training annually at Donner Lake for six years, not only because of the views and team building, but because of the altitude.
Â
"We get some quality training in at even higher elevation," says Elias.
Â
Reno is already 4,500 feet above sea level, which is the highest the Wolf Pack will be running in during the season. Provo, Utah hosts the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, and is about 4,500 feet as well. Donner Lake is approximately 6,000 feet above sea level.
The Pack opens up its season a week from Saturday, as the team travels to California to take part in the San Francisco Invitational.
