RENO, Nev. - Nevada Volleyball has added Kendall Bergsten and Emme Bullis to the coaching staff, as announced by Head Coach
Jason Borchin.
Bergsten comes to Nevada from UC Davis where she spent three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
"Kendall brings a contagious energy, elite work ethic, and true passion for the game," said Borchin. "She understands what it takes to build a program and has played a key role in recruiting and developing the foundation at UC Davis. Her presence will make an immediate impact on our culture and the daily environment of our program."
Prior to UC Davis, Bergsten was a volunteer assistant coach at Oregon, where she helped the Ducks to their best record (22-9) since 2012 and coached their first Pacific North Region Player of the Year in Brooke Nuneviller.
She also spent a year coaching at Willamette University, where the team garnered the Volleyball Team Academic Award from the AVCA, and she helped coach five player of the week honorees.
Bergsten began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Pacific University in 2019. The Boxers nabbed their first-ever AVCA Player of the Week and had 4 NWC all-conference selections.
The Phoenix, Arizona native competed at North Idaho College, Arizona Christian University and Northwest Christian University. As a freshman, North Idaho went on to finish ninth at the NJCAA National Tournament and as a senior at Northwest Christian, she served as a team captain and one of her top performances came against nationally-ranked Corban, where she had 19 kills.
Bullis joins the Pack after graduating from Cal Poly where she spent her entire collegiate career.
"Emme was a fantastic setter at Cal Poly, but what impresses me even more is who she is as a person," said Borchin. "I had the pleasure of coaching Emme and can speak firsthand about what an incredible leader and teammate she is. Raised in a coaching family, she has learned the value of hard work, accountability, and respect. She will be an outstanding role model for our athletes and a huge part of building our culture."
Bullis helped lead the team to a 28-8 overall record, 14-4 conference record, a Big West Tournament title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2025.
The Mustangs made a run to the Sweet 16, defeating No. 5 BYU (3-2) and No. 4 USC (3-2) on the opening weekend before falling at top-seed Kentucky (3-0) at the Lexington Regional.
In her redshirt senior season, Bullis played in 126 sets for 121 points, 65 kills, 300 digs and 50 blocks.
During the 2024 season, Bullis surpassed 3,000 career set assists, only accomplished by seven other Mustangs. She earned Big West Setter of the Week three times, All-Big West Second Team and All-Academic honoree.
In the 2023 season, Bullis earned All-Big West Volleyball Honors and was named Big West Setter of the Week once. She averaged 7.41 assists per set and 2.00 digs per set.
After redshirting her freshman season, Bullis came back to play in 29 of the 30 matches at setter, playing in 110 of 112 sets. She earned All-Big West Honorable Mention as well as Big West All-Freshman Team honors. She was named Big West Setter of the Week four times and Big West Freshman of the Week once. Bullis led the team and was third in the Big West in assists per set at 10.05.
Bullis is originally from Whitewater, Wisconsin and attended Whitewater High School.
