RENO, Nev. - Nevada Men's Cross Country announced the signing of one new addition to the men's squad for the 2025 season in Overland Park, Kansas native Elijah Chavez.

Hailing out of Blue Valley Southwest High School, Chavez placed 5th at the 224 KSHSAA 5A state cross country championships with a time of 15:38. Chavez has best times of 9:13.71 for the 3200m at the 2025 Shawnee Mission North relays and 4:18.22 for the 1600m at the 2025 KSHSAA 5A Track and Field Regional. 

He also plans to attend the College of Business. 

Chavez is the third addition to the Men's Cross Country 2025-26 signing class.
