JACKSON, Wyo. – Nevada's Jeger and Engebret Halbjorhus took home the silver and bronze medals in the giant slalom, while freshman Erica Lynch recorded her third collegiate podium of the season with a third-place finish as the Pack opened the Western Region Tech Elite Series Monday morning.
 
After the first run in the men's giant slalom, five of the six athletes sat in the top-10. Junior Iver Naess recorded a first run of 43.05 to top the field, followed by J. Halbjorhus in third (43.41), E. Halbjorhus in fourth (43.54), Ulrik Danielsen in sixth (43.82), and Jules Baur in seventh (44.04).
 
The second run gave both Halbjorhus brothers the edge, finishing their second runs on the podium in second and third, with the pair's second runs placing sixth (47.60) for Jeger and ninth (47.86) for Engebret. This is the third podium finish for junior J. Halbjorhus so far this season, and the third for freshman E. Halbjorhus in his collegiate career. Baur had a fourth place ranked second run to climb up near the top of the field, finishing just behind E. Halbjorhus in fourth, followed by Ryan Herhusky in 12^th and Ulrik Danielsen in 15^th.
 
On the women's side, Lynch was third in the first run, before coming back and finishing in third for the second run (50.09) to secure her place on the podium in third. This is the freshman's third collegiate podium finish. Junior Georgie Sullivan finished just inside the top-10, recording two solid runs to place seventh overall. Followed by Sullivan was junior Elle Murphy who came in 24^th. Freshman Jessica Blackburn recorded a 48.91 to rank her eighth after the first run.
 
The Wolf Pack will finish up the second day of giant slalom in Jackson Tuesday morning before wrapping the Western Region Tech Elite in Snowbird, Utah January 11-12 with the slalom. Live results for the rest of the week can be found HERE.
