Five Wolf Pack skiers headed to National Collegiate Skiing Championships

RENO, Nev. - Nevada Skiing will send five student-athletes to next week's 2026 National Collegiate Skiing Championships, the NCAA announced on its Selection Show Wednesday morning.

Erica Lynch, Sophia Falter, Pietro Bisello, David Morken, and Peyton Wells will represent the Wolf Pack from March 11-14 at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah. The five alpine skiers headed to the national meet mark the most for Nevada since sending six alpine skiers (and 11 overall, including five Nordic skiers) to the 2010 championships.

Lynch has enjoyed one of Nevada Skiing's best seasons since the program's reinstatement ahead of the 2022-23 athletic year. At the Utah Invitational on February 22, she took third place in the giant slalom race for the program's first podium finish since reinstatement. In giant slalom Lynch has posted five top-10 finishes including three in the top five in 2026. On the slalom course, she also turned in three top-five finishes among five in the top 10 total.

Morken, a Truckee native in his second season with the Pack, performed well during the season in Giant Slalom, grabbing top-10 finishes at three of the last four regular-season events including ninth at the Utah Invitational just over a week ago.

Falter, Bisello and Wells all cap a strong debut season at Nevada with a trip to the national championships. Falter ascended as her freshman season went on, capping her regular season with an eighth-place finish in Giant Slalom at last weekend's RMISA Championships. Bisello, in his first season at Nevada all the way from Italy, finished fifth at the RMISA Championships in Giant Slalom, clocking the field's fastest second run to climb into the top five. Wells, another freshman for the Pack and out of Hood River, Oregon, highlighted his regular season with top-10 Slalom finishes at the first RMISA Alpine Qualifier and at the Nevada Invitational at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe in early February.

Participants for the National Collegiate Championships are selected on a regional basis from two designated regions for Alpine skiing (East and West Regions) and three designated regions for Nordic skiing (Central, East and West Regions). Bids are awarded to regions using a formula determined by the skiing committee. A maximum of 12 student-athletes (three per gender per discipline) may be selected from an institution.

Coverage of the NCAA Championships will be streamed live on NCAA.com. Giant Slalom races will take place Wednesday, March 11, with Slalom scheduled for Friday, March 13.
