SENIOR (2024) - Competed in five meets during the season ... Earned his first podium finish of the season (2nd) in slalom at the WR FIS Open Tech Series (Dec. 17) ... Saw a 20th place finish on the first day of the Westminster in slalom (Jan. 17) ... Posted an 18th place finish on day two of the Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational (Feb. 2) ... Earned a 31st place finish in slalom at the RMISA Championships (Feb. 24). 

JUNIOR (2022-23)  - Competed in 6 races this season... Earned a third place podium finish in the giant slalom at the Western Region Elite... Placed 22nd in the slalom at the Westminster Invitational, posting a first run of 42.83, ninth fastest in the field... Had the first ranked second run in the field in the slalom, finishing 17th at the Denver Invitational... Placed 15th in the slalom at the Alaska Anchorage Invitational... Posted a 10th place finish in slalom and a 32nd place finish in giant slalom at the RMISA Championships... Traveled to the NCAA Championships in Lake Placid as an alternate.

PRIOR TO NEVADA - A member of the alpine skiing team at Sierra Nevada University... Won the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championship in 2022... First-team all American alpine skiing for both slalom and giant slalom in 2022... 

HIGH SCHOOL - Graduated from Dønski Videregående Skole in 2019... Competed in soccer and mountain biking all throughout high school... Apart of the Asker Ski Club in Norway. 

PERSONAL - Son of Norman Smith and Iselin and Gunnar Oveland... Has two sisters Amelia and Helene and one brother Christian... Mother and father were alpine skiing racers at the University of New Mexico... Uncle was an alpine skiing racer at the University of Utah... Aunt was also an alpine skiing racer at University of Denver... Chose Nevada because being apart of a new ski team has been everything he could dream of and the location... Was being recruited by Plymouth State University... Conference championship title as apart of Sierra Nevada University... Says Aksel Lund Svindal and Lando Norris as his sports heros... Most memorable event in his career was the Norwegian National Championships in 2019... In his free time, he enjoys golfing, biking, and boating.
