Sixtine Piccard and sophomore
Jeger Halbjoerhus placed 19
th and 17
th respectively in the women's and men's giant slalom race Tuesday afternoon, to kick off the four-day competition slate in Girdwood at Aleyska Resort.

Piccard finished the race with a combined time of 1:39.68, posting the 15
th fastest second run in the field of 49.48. Halbjoerhus led the Pack men from the beginning, earning a first run effort of 46.64, the 10
th fastest run in the field. His second run of 48.24 ranked 22
nd overall in the field, leading him to a 19
th place finish.

The second highest finish for the Nevada women came from
Georgie Sullivan, placing 23
rd with an overall combined time of 1:40.90.
Elle Murphy finished ten places behind Sullivan in 33
rd with a 1:46.11, while
Tiia Nurminen placed 36
th, with a time of 1:48.17.
Honor Clissold posted a first run effort of 48.45, the 15
th fastest overall in the women's field.

Ibon Mintegui placed just outside the top 20, in 26
th place, with a time of 1:36.16. Iver Naess and Andreas Smith both put up first run efforts, Naess' 46.74 the 12
th fastest overall in the men's field, and Smith's 47.74 ranked 33
rd overall.

The Pack continue their run in Alaska with day one of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Championships, competing in giant slalom.
