Nevada women’s cross country announces signing of Natalie Roberts

RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's cross country welcomes Mukilteo, Washington native Natalie Roberts to the team for the 2024 season, as announced Tuesday.

"Natalie is a talented young athlete with lots of upside as she plays soccer a good portion of the year before stepping on the track," said head coach Kirk Elias. "She should make an impact as a freshman in cross country, also. We are excited she selected Nevada!"

Roberts joins the Pack as a dual distance athlete with racing experience in both cross country and track and field. During the 2022 track and field season, Roberts saw personal records in the indoor 400 meters, 800 meters, 3000 meters, and outdoor 5000 meters (18:19.70). She leads the Wesco league in the 800 meters, 1600 meters (5:02.03), and 3200 meters (10:56.97). Her time in the 3200 meters earned her a fifth-place finish at the WIAA 4A State Championships.

Roberts is the first signee for the class of 2024 and the third addition coming from Kamiak High School, joining current men's team members, freshman Jaedyn Chase and redshirt freshman Jackson Hammons.
