Nevada cross country releases new schedule

RENO, NEV. – After a shortened season that saw the Nevada cross country team compete in only two meets, the new schedule has been released which includes three regular-season meets and three championship meets.

The first meet of the new season will be the Nevada Twilight Classic held at the Sierra Sage Golf Course on Sept. 1. The last time the team competed in Reno was in 2019 when the university added the men's program back.

The next meet on the schedule will be Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational held at the university's golf course on Sept. 24. The last time the Wolf Pack competed in the Roy Griak Invitational was back in 2014.

The last regular season meet will begin in October at Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Park on Oct. 16. Santa Clara saw the Pack last during the 2019 season, where the athletes had plenty of new personal bests.

Baylands Regional Park will see the Pack compete in their first championship, which will be the Mountain West Championships on Oct. 29. The Pack last competed in California for the MW Championships in 2018, where they competed in San Diego.

The last two championships will be held in November. The NCAA Mountain Regional Championships will be hosted by BYU and held on Nov. 12. The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held by Florida State on Nov. 20.

The cross country team will look to start their new season in September.
