RENO, NEV. – After a successful outdoor season for a trio of Wolf Pack athletes, senior Nicola Ader, sophomore Emily Costello, and sophomore Rayven Nealey will continue their seasons at the NCAA Preliminary Round.
Ader will be competing in the long jump, where the senior broke her own school record during the season. The Rice Invitational saw Ader jump a distance of 6.34m. This being good enough for the school record and ranked her first in the conference. The senior enters the preliminary round ranked 23rd in the west. Ader also automatically has a bid into the NCAA Finals Outdoor Championships for the heptathlon with her top point total of 5,607.
Costello will be competing in the 400m dash, where the sophomore broke the school record in the event. At the Mountain West Championships, Costello competed in the finals where she broke the record with her time of 53.89. The sophomore will enter the preliminary round ranked 44th in the west.
Lastly, Nealey will be competing in the triple jump. The sophomore at the Rice Invitational moved into third all-time at Nevada in the event with her distance of 12.69m. The distance currently ranks Nealey 46th in the west preliminary round.
The three athletes will look to compete at the NCAA Outdoor West Preliminary round that starts on May 26.
