Kalma highlights with two silver medals to conclude Mountain West Championships

CLOVIS, Calif. - Nevada Track and Field concluded competition at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Saturday, finishing in fourth on 81.5 points, earning the programs highest conference point total since Nevada's first year in the Mountain West in 2013.

In the triple jump, Kaja Maltaric led the way for the Wolf Pack with a fourth-place finish, recording a personal best mark of 12.69m that ranks fifth all-time in program history while contributing five team points.

The high jump added key points for the Pack, as Hazel Gaspaire placed fourth with a clearance of 1.71m to score five points. Mary Casserly followed with an eighth-place finish at 1.61m, earning 0.5 points, while Stina Larsson also cleared 1.61m to finish 10th.

In the 4x100m relay, the team of Vivian Groppe, Annalies Kalma, Kylee Parsons, and Magdalene George placed fifth overall with a time of 45.52.

On the track, Annalies Kalma delivered a standout performance with a pair of runner-up finishes. Kalma placed second in the 400m with a time of 52.22, making her a 400m silver medalist in both indoor and outdoor, scoring eight team points. Kalma followed with another second-place finish in the 200m, clocking a personal best 23.18 to add eight more points. In the 100m, Magdalene George added a fifth-place finish with a time of 11.59.

Nevada closed the day with a strong showing in the 4x400m relay, where the team of Kylee Parsons, Annalies Kalma, Malena Galvan and Halyn Senegal finished fourth overall with a time of 3:41.01, adding five points to the team total.

Overall, Nevada combined multiple scoring performances, podium finishes, and all-time marks on their way to the best team point total since 2013.
