RENO, Nev. - Five Nevada Track and Field athletes are gearing up for the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with competition running Thursday through Saturday. 

To advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, athletes have to finish top 12 at NCAA First Rounds.

Lilly Urban and Hallee Hughes will kick first round action off in the javelin competition on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT, with the pair ranked sixth and 17th in the region respectively. Long Jump will follow at 4:30 p.m. where Alma Kathan will compete, ranked 48th in the west region. Annalies Kalma will be the Pack's last competitor on Thursday, competing in the 400m at 5:25 p.m. and 200m at 6:45 p.m. where she is ranked 29th and 12th in the region. 

Hazel Gaspaire will be the Pack's sole competitor on Saturday, competing in the high jump semifinals at noon PT, where she is ranked 42nd in the region.
