RENO, Nev. – After a successful weekend of competition at the Mountain West Indoor Championship, junior Nicola Ader is the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week.
Last Saturday, Ader saw success in the high jump at the Mountain West Indoor Championship. The junior earned a gold medal at the event after placing first with her height of 1.81m. She was the only Pack member to earn a medal over the course of the weekend.
Ader also has a good chance of qualifying for the NCAA Indoor National Championship next week in Albuquerque for the high jump. The junior is tied for sixth nationally in the event with her height of 1.82m. She earned this mark earlier in the season at the Bronco Invitational where she placed first in the event.
As well as having success in the high jump, Ader also had success in the 60 meter hurdles. Ader's time of 8.46 at the Bronco Invitational earned her a second place finish at the meet and also was good enough to beat the school record in the event.
Ader will compete next week March 13-14 in Albuquerque while the team will compete in the Aggie Open that same weekend in Davis, Calif.
