RENO, Nev. – The Nevada men's golf team will tee it up in the NCAA Athens Regional starting this Monday.
 
The 54-hole event will be spread out with 18 holes each day at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. The Wolf Pack will play as the No. 9 seed in the 13-team regional. Aside from Nevada and No. 14 Georgia, the field also includes four other top 25 teams in No. 4 Vanderbilt, the region's No. 1 seed, No. 9 Duke, No. 19 Liberty, No. 21 Alabama, along with Tennessee, Campbell, Kentucky, SMU, Memphis, UNC Wilmington and Princeton.
 
This selection is the Wolf Pack's second consecutive at-large bid as it was sent to Norman, Okla. in the 2018 NCAA Regionals, finishing ninth in the 14-team field. It marks just the 13^th regionals appearance overall for the program in its history. Nevada is currently ranked 52^nd in the country according to GolfStat, which is the second-highest mark in program history.
 
Nevada has put together one of its best seasons in its history, winning a single-season program-record three tournament titles. The Pack claimed victories at the Nick Watney Invitational and Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational in the fall, and the Olympic Club Intercollegiate this spring. In addition to those wins, the Wolf Pack has racked up seven top five finishes in its 10 events. Through 30 rounds of action this season, Nevada has compiled a team scoring average of 287.02, which is on pace to set the single season record.
 
The Wolf Pack will send the same five to compete as the Mountain West Championship, led by all-conference performer Joey Vrzich. Vrzich was named to the All-Mountain West team after a career year, posting two wins and five top 15 finishes. Vrzich leads the team averaging 71.53 strokes per round. A slew of juniors including Sam Meek, Sam Harned, Stephen Osborne and Tony Gil will also compete in the regional.
